Exports from Latin America – The Caribbean grow amid global uncertainty

Caribbean News Global (CNG) January 16, 2025, Washington (CNG): The value of exports from Latin America and the Caribbean grew by an estimated 4.1 percent in 2024, recovering from a 1.6 percent decline in 2023, according to the latest Trade Trends Estimates for Latin America and the Caribbean, a report published by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Chapo promises to slim down government

Agencia de Información de Mozambique (AIM) January 16, 2025, Maputo (AIM): In his first speech as head of state, Mozambique’s new President, Daniel Chapo, on Wednesday promised to slim down the government, reducing the number of ministries and scrapping the central level State Secretariats.
Speaking in Independence Square, in central Maputo, immediately after his investiture, Chapo said these changes alone will save 17 billion meticais (about 266 million US dollars) a year.
