In a statement they called on President Abbas to take the necessary steps in cooperation and coordination with active Arab and international parties to compel the occupation government to halt its genocidal war, implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735, which calls for an immediate ceasefire, and work on urgent arrangements to restore the authority of the Palestinian National Authority to take the lead, as it was before 2007, in accordance with the principle of geographical unity of the territories of the State of Palestine, as outlined in the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s charter.

They affirmed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of Palestinian land, unified by the political system between the two halves of the homeland, amid the occupation government’s attempt to strip the Palestinian issue of its political depth and shift its focus to a humanitarian matter, thereby marginalizing the national and political role aimed at establishing the future independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital.

They emphasized that the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) will remain the legitimate and sole representative of the Palestinian people wherever they are.

This call comes in light of the occupation’s procrastination, stubbornness and thwarting of all international efforts aimed at halting the genocidal war against our people, said the statement.

It also comes against the backdrop of the ongoing Palestinian division that has exacerbated the crises facing the Gaza Strip and deepened the impact of the disaster.

“We also recognize the gravity of the current stage and the challenges threatening our existence and the future of our people, as part of our national role to preserve the Palestinian individual, enhance their steadfastness, safeguard their survival and resources, and protect civil and societal peace,” they said.
