The Caribbean leader emphasized the importance of maintaining solidarity among member nations in the face of external pressures, particularly the economic sanctions and blockades imposed by foreign powers, especially on Cuba and Venezuela, for which he reaffirmed his support.
“We must remain united for the defense of our peoples. Saint Lucia will always be part of this effort to improve the quality of life of our peoples,” declared Pierre during his address at the summit.
Pierre also stressed the need to strengthen initiatives such as Agroalba, a program that promotes food security and agricultural development in the region.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of defending human rights and respecting migrants, especially in a global context where economic and political crises have increased migratory flows.
The XIII ALBA-TCP Summit included the participation of leaders and representatives from member countries, who discussed strategies to strengthen regional integration, address global inequalities, and promote sustainable development.
Saint Lucia, as an active member of the alliance, reaffirmed its commitment to these goals and its willingness to collaborate in building a fairer and more equitable future for all the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.
