Abbas briefed members on the contacts and visits he recently made to mobilize Arab and international support to consolidate the Gaza ceasefire, allow the entry of humanitarian aid to all parts of the war-torn Strip, enable the State of Palestine to assume its responsibilities in the Strip and halt the Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Referring to his important meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, President Abbas said that he discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories. Both leaders underscored the importance of maintaining coordination to counter proposals to forcefully displace Palestinians from their homeland.
Additionally, addressed his recent participation in the African Union Summit, where he reaffirmed the unwavering stance of the Palestinian leadership against any attempts to displace its people. He stressed that «Palestine is not for sale» and reiterated the firm Palestinian position that no part of its territory—including Gaza, the West Bank, or Jerusalem—would be relinquished.
The President also stressed the importance of adhering to international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative as the foundation for any political resolution to the Palestinian issue.
The Fatah Central Committee strongly rejected any proposals for the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza or any other occupied Palestinian land. It asserted that such plans are destined to fail, given the clear opposition from Arab and international parties, which have deemed them violations of international law and legitimacy.
Furthermore, the committee reaffirmed that the Palestinian people will resist any Israeli right-wing ambitions to displace them, standing firm on their land under the leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), their sole legitimate representative.
The committee also expressed full support for President Abbas’s stance on maintaining the ceasefire, ensuring aid delivery to Gaza, and upholding Palestine’s governance responsibilities in the strip as an integral part of Palestinian territory. It also called for Israel’s complete withdrawal from Gaza.
