In a press statement, Hamas said that the continuation of the criminal military campaign in northern Gaza, the tightening of the siege, and the separation of the area from Gaza City by force, along with the escalation of bombardments and massacres against unarmed civilians, constitute a “full-fledged act of genocide, perpetrated by a fascist occupation government, indifferent to any laws or obligations, and relying on a criminal American cover.”
The Israeli occupation army has isolated northern Gaza from Gaza City through the use of military vehicles and drone cover, amid a severe humanitarian deterioration.
Witnesses from northern Gaza reported that the occupation army is erecting mounds on the main roads between Gaza City and northern Gaza, and has destroyed dozens of homes in the Jabalia refugee camp using explosive robots.
Hamas noted that the siege of northern Gaza comes amid a worsening humanitarian situation, preventing the entry of food and relief supplies, and the army’s efforts to evacuate and shut down hospitals.
Hamas emphasized that the international silence regarding the ongoing genocide for over a year, and the stagnation of international response, “provides a license for the terrorist occupation government to continue and escalate its actions, expanding them to include the entire (Middle East) region.”
Hamas added, “The international community is today required to activate its tools to stop the ongoing massacre in northern Gaza, and to confront the Zionist war criminals and their plans to ignite the region and disrupt its security and stability.”
The Movement also called on all Arab and Islamic governments, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to activate pressure tools on Israel and its supporters to stop their aggression against the Palestinian people, to impose relief, and to provide all means of support.
Hamas urged Arab and Islamic masses, as well as the free people of the world, to immediately take to the streets, squares, universities, unions, and in all arenas and to play their role in confronting this criminal war, renewing their initiative in supporting the Palestinian people and exposing the crimes of the fascist occupation.
Hamas affirmed that the occupation’s criminal plans in northern Gaza “will shatter against the determination and resolve of our people and their brave resistance, just as all attempts over the past year of genocide and crime have failed.”
The occupation army continues to impose a tight siege on the Jabalia refugee camp and the roads leading to it for the past nine days, isolating tens of thousands of families remaining in those areas, accompanied by intense bombardments targeting civilians everywhere, while preventing the delivery of food, medicine, and water to the population, who have been suffering from starvation for an entire year amid the ongoing war.
According to the Government Media Office, the occupation army has killed more than 300 martyrs to date in northern Gaza, in a systematic crime of killing and a complete siege against civilians, particularly children and women, and against residential neighborhoods, noting that a large number of bodies have not been retrieved from northern Gaza due to the targeting of medical teams and ambulances.
